REECL Programme to date (since 2006)

To date, the REECL Programme has committed to 42061 energy efficiency loans totalling 125 141 040 leva and incentive grants amounting to 23 540 385 leva.

* It is assumed 32% as Bulgarian energy efficiency average for fossil fuel conversion into electricity and 6500 hours illustrative for Bulgarian baseload plant.

To date, the REECL financed projects have saved a total estimated electricity equivalent of 186 746 MWh per year, which is enough energy to heat water for 9 337 286 476 cups of tea or enough to drive a car over 280 118 594 kilometres.

To date, the REECL supported projects have brought reduction in CO2 emissions of 261 264 tonnes per year, which is equivalent to the amount of CO2 annually absorbed by a forest of 9 676 460 trees.
