REECL Programme to date (since 2006)

To date, the REECL Programme has committed to 30647 energy efficiency loans totalling 90 625 811 leva and incentive grants amounting to 16 953 289 leva.

* It is assumed 32% as Bulgarian energy efficiency average for fossil fuel conversion into electricity and 6500 hours illustrative for Bulgarian baseload plant.

** Total closing capacity of Kozloduy NPP is 1,760 MWe.

To date, the REECL financed projects have saved a total estimated electricity equivalent of 132 700 MWh per year, which is enough energy to heat water for 6 634 994 844 cups of tea or enough to drive a car over 199 049 845 kilometres.

To date, the REECL supported projects have brought reduction in CO2 emissions of 175 864 tonnes per year, which is equivalent to the amount of CO2 annually absorbed by a forest of 6 513 497 trees.
